Just when I think summer is over, it just keeps coming! We headed to Whittier to soak in some of the unusually warm and sunny weather and do some shrimping/sightseeing/relaxing. We toured around Blackstone Bay, taking in the gorgeous snow capped mountains, massive glaciers and waterfalls. The bay was calm and uncrowded. It was the perfect day to be on the water! I am normally bundled up on any AK boat ride, so the was definitely a welcome change. It was a great last boat trip of the season!
This weekend was another great run with great friends in the AK outdoors! Lost Lake is a 15 mile trail run through the most beautiful scenery in Chugach National Park. It was a great run even though it took a little longer than expected. Kim's legs were not cooperating and I thought for awhile there I was going to have to carry her across the finish line:)We finished with smiles though and will be back next year for more! Of course we stopped along the way for some photos shoots.
Our AK summer is winding down; the mornings are cooler and the rainy days are creeping in on the sunny ones. Every nice day is treasured as potentially the last :) I look forward to the changing of the seasons, but will miss the long days of endless sunlight and all the fun summertime activities.
